Polanco Area

Address:

Mexico City,

NileGuide Expert tip:

When you choose a sidewalk table you get a better view but you get hit on by street vendors with everything under the sun.

Description:

Polanco is a neighborhood that developed in the 1930's to house the growing and prosperous population, especially of Spaniards that had settled in Mexico City. During the past 20 years it has transformed itself into one of the most chic and sophisticated areas in the city without loosing it's Mexican charm and flavor.

In a ten block radio you will find boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Ermenegildo Zegna as well as arts and crafts, jewelry, art galleries and anything else you can think of. There are a myriad of restaurants in every price range and choice of food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Many of these restaurants have sidewalk tables where you can enjoy watching the  locals walk by and dozens of coffee shops where you can have a cappuccino and a pastry while reading a book or having a quiet conversation.

This area of Polanco is three or four blocks from the major hotels (W, Nikko, Intercontinental and Marriott) so it's easy to get to and from with all the shopping bags you will be carrying.
