Saturday Bazaar - Mexico City
  • Type: Shopping
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

A visit to the bazaar can be combined with a visit to the house of Dolores Olmedo a patron of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo where many of their paintings still hang.

  • Description:

    • I've never understood why the bazaar is only open on Saturdays, it is a beautiful and magical marketplace that every visitor will enjoy but if for some reason they can't make it that day, they will miss it.

It is located in the southern part of the city and housed in a XVII century home. Every single room and open space displays the most beautiful arts and crafts from everywhere in Mexico, the plaza in front is used by Mexican painters to show their work, you will find many styles and prices. On Saturdays many craftsmen that do not have a space inside the home to show their work sit on the sidewalks surrounding the bazaar so you can walk around and continue your shopping. There are many restaurants in the area featuring Mexican and international cuisine.
