• Type: Picnics, Parks & Gardens
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

This viveros have the most friendly squirrels you will ever encounter. Purchase a bag of nuts at the entrance and let the furry things come and introduce themselves, take nuts from your hand, and pose for photographs.

  • Description:

    • Approximately one kilometre west of Plaza Hidalgo and the Jardín Centenario, are the beautiful green fields of Coyoacán. These extensive viveros or plant nurseries, are often used by joggers early in the morning, with free admission for the public.

The best time to take a stroll through these gardens is along with the joggers in the early morning or later on in the evening, to avoid the blazing sunshine. This is also a good place to admire the varied flora of Mexico.
