Miami River Inn

• The only bed and breakfast in central Miami (it calls itself the city's ONLY B&B), the Miami River Inn is only a half a block away from the large but somewhat neglected Jose Marti Park, and the shores of the Miami River. Perfectly situated for exploring downtown and Little Havana, its antiques-focused decorating scheme is appropriate for the 100-year-old home and it's a welcome change of pace from the modern décor so prevalent in the Magic City. It's very well-run with a nice Continental breakfast, but the beds definitely show their age, providing less than a comfortable night's sleep. Even so, the rates are reasonable, the location hard to beat and the swimming pool a pleasant surprise.
