Description:
A place where the sake menu is much larger than the food one, Domo Japones is a hipster hangout for Design District denizens who don't feel like schlepping over the causeway for sushi. The food is good, if not limited, with the usual raw fish fare as well as some unusual dishes such as miso cod and duck yaki yudon -- don't ask, just try it. The ambience is very downtown, with brick walls, modern art including bare-breasted photographs of some very famous supermodels and an upstairs lounge that's cozy and intimate and, best of all, overlooks the scene below, which borders on buzzing, though hardly booming.
