• A new and fabulous Indian restaurant has opened in Downtown Coral Gables. The place is basically modern, but with beautiful Indian tapestries, carvings and dark wood accents. It seats 140, so it is a large space, but it is made cozy by the décor. The owner-chef Jay Mariadoss has prepared an interesting menu that includes most of India's culinary regions. From the typical chaats (street snacks) to the more sophisticated dishes, it is an adventure. Try the pakoras and the tandoori (quail or chicken), and vegetarian dishes like lentil pancakes that are a specialty from Southern India. Mango kulfi (ice-cream) is also very good. Once a month, there is a Bollywood night with complimentary snacks; and on weekends, Steven Mikes plays the sitar! It is a whole ambiance....fantastic! - Mercedes de Marchena
