Description:
A good catch on the banks of the Miami River, Joe's Seafood (not to be confused with Joe's Stone Crab) has a great waterfront setting and a fairly simple, yet tasty menu of fresh fish cooked in a number of ways -- grilled, broiled, fried, or, the best in my opinion, in garlic or green sauce. Meals are quite the deal here, all served with green salad or grouper soup, and yellow rice or french fries. The complimentary fish-spread appetizer is also a nice touch. Because of this, not to mention the great, gritty ambience that takes you away from neon, neo-Miami in favor of the old seafaring days, there's usually a wait for a table. If so, try Garcia's right next door -- it may as well be Joe's twin -- best known for inexpensive, delicious stone crabs and famous conch fritters. They also recently opened an upstairs bar and lounge overlooking the river.
