Description:
This typical Latin diner serves some of the best food in town. Just by looking at the line that runs out the door every afternoon between noon and 2pm, you can see that you're not the first to discover it. For about $5, you can have a huge and filling meal. Pay attention to the daily lunch specials and go with them. A pechuga (pounded, tender chicken breast) is smothered in sautéed onions and served with rice and beans and a salad. The trout and the roast pork are both very good. When available, try the ropa vieja, a shredded-beef dish delicately spiced and served with peas and rice.
