Sushi Samba Dromo

• It's Brazilian, it's Peruvian, it's Japanese, it's super sushi! This multinational New York City import is definitely scene-worthy: It's a hipster's paradise. This stylish, sexy restaurant charges a pretty penny for some exotic sushi rolls such as the $15 soft-shell crab roll, a tasty combo of chives, jalapeño, and crab, and the $12 South Asian roll with shrimp, tomato, cucumber, chives, cilantro, and onions. And while the sushi is top notch, the sashimi ceviches are even better. An assortment of five -- your choice of four from either lobster, salmon, yellowtail, tuna, and fluke -- is somewhat of a deal at $27, considering the fact that separately each can run you from $9 to $14. Main plates are equally exceptional, and while they have the usual haute dishes of snapper and Chilean sea bass, I'd try the churrasco à Rio Grande, a divine assortment of meats served with rice, beans, collard greens, and chimichurri sauce. Sushi Samba Dromo is one of the area's newer places to be, whether for a sushi roll that may set you back your kid's college fund or for a very potent Pisco Sour or sakegria. Come here for good food and an excellent scene.
