    A great way to invent some Christmas cheer in tropical weather. With carnival-type rides and atmosphere, the best time to avoid the crowds is during the weeknights. Great fun and plenty of rides for the kids. Make sure to use the bathroom before you go and be prepared: the parking is not convenient.

    • Santa's Enchanted Forest, the largest Christmas theme park and carnival in the world, is a sheer delight for children of all ages. Open from November through early January, the park features a spectacular array of activities and points of interest, including nine shows nightly, a multitude of displays, forty game and food stands, kiddy rides, a 90-foot Christmas tree, and three million lights to illuminate Miami's tropical winter nights. It is a seasonal favorite not to be missed. Admission: $14 for adults and children over 10 years old, $7 for children 10 and under.

      HORRIBLE FAIR, NOTHING ENCHANTED ABOUT IT
