Description:

  • Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. The steak sandwich is consistently voted the best in town. Steak, seafood and pasta round out the menu. The appetizers are a meal in themselves, and the desserts are yummy. Compliment your meal with beer, wine, a cocktail or a soft drink.
