  • Have mountain bike, will travel? Biking around Moab is usually considered some of the best in the world. Mountain biking trails curve, wind, plunge, and climb all around this outdoor playground. We listed some of the best biking trails, areas, and guiding services for you to explore and enjoy.

The Slickrock Bike Trail may be the most famous mountain bike trail in the known universe. Not really for beginners, its trailhead can be found in the Sand Flats Recreation Area, which does offer some trails for biking newbies. The Gemini Bridges Trail is another extremely popular Moab bike trail, and it passes through some excellent country. Hurrah Pass Trail features a steep climb to the pass itself. It's what we like to call a butt blaster, in that it'll get you shapely in a hurry. The Monitor/Merrimac Trail makes the cut because it's a good one for both beginners and advanced riders.

If you head to Behind the Rocks, a locals' secret spot, steer your bike toward the Kane Canyon/Pritchett Canyon trail. This area is full of slickrock, hidden canyons, and not as many bikers as on the better known trails. For road bikers, spin your wheels along the byways, such as the Potash/Colorado Secnic Byway, for views and exercise.

And if you prefer your biking to be guided, check out Holiday Expeditions and Moab Adventure Center. These places will suit you up and send you out with experienced guides, yummy food, and endless trails chosen for your level of experience.
