  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Great views of Moab, close to town.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Late afternoon hiking in summertime can be okay because the trail is mostly shaded by the huge cliffs

    Description:

    • You start with some killer switchbacks--but remember, they lead to a stellar view! at the top of the switchbacks, you'll head into Hidden Valley itself. As you continue north and over a low pass, you'll be rewarded with great views of Behind the Rocks and its monumental sandstone fins and pinnacles. Return the same way you came. It is optional, however, to extend your hike by heading on to the Colorado River via the Moab Rim 4WD trail.

Directions: Drive 3 miles south from Moab on U.S. 191. Turn right (west) onto Angel Rock Road. After two blocks, turn right onto Rimrock Road. Drive to parking area.
