Description:

  • Hiking trails, lookout spots and an ancient fertility shrine can be found in this park. Pala'au State Park is located on the northern side of Moloka'i, in between Kualapu'u Town and Kalaupapa State Park. Hiking trails lead to the Kalaupapa Lookout. This is the high point from which hiking and mule tours start the arduous trek to the Kalaupapa Preserve 1,600 feet below (allowed with guide only). Another trail leads to Phallic Rock, a large stone rock formation visited by women in ancient times. There are also areas for picnicking and camping.
