Description:
This is the definition of so-called cucina casalinga, or "housewife cuisine," where Paola and her sisters serve up homemade pinci and ribollita in a simple and cozy atmosphere. Although the ragù and porcini sauces are not particularly intricate, they are deeply satisfying. Locals flock here for the fiorentina steak, enjoyed with an honestly priced Brunello. If you're only interested in wine tasting, try the expertly run enoteca next door, Enoteca Il Leccio (tel. 0577 843-016), which moved here from downtown Montalcino in 1994.
