  • NileGuide Expert Says:

    Best seafood on Central Coast

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Time your trip so you can enjoy dinner at Phil's and then catch the sunset. It will make your trip all the more worth the adventure.

    Description:

    • Where to begin with Phil's Fish Market? It is arguably the best seafood restaurant on the Central Coast. Moss Landing is an under-appreciated fishing town that prides itself in providing the best fish and shellfish from the Pacific. Phil's Fish Market shares a backyard with the fishing harbor and gets the ingredients it sells wholesale and in the restaurant right from the source, no more than 100 yards away.

Phil's Fish Market was challenged by Food Network star Bobby Flay on his show "Throwdown" to see who had the better Cioppino (Phil's is world-famous for theirs). Well, Phil won and the Market's cioppino (a hearty fish stew in a tomato-based broth) still reigns supreme. They serve up a huge (over 30 items) menu including clam chowder, lobster tail and crab legs, calamari and various pasta dishes. Absolutely a must try if you don't mind driving 30 minutes up Highway 1.
