Description:

  • Located inside the Monterey Conference Center, the Alvarado Gallery exhibits a rotating collection that depicts life 150 years ago in Old Monterey. Alvarado serves a double purpose in that it not only shows photographs and artifacts of historical significance to the community, it also allows citizens to be curators of the museum. The Alvarado Gallery is a great way to get acquainted with Monterey's history in a straightforward manner without having to spend hours looking at stale exhibits. The photographs on display are truly a glimpse back in time.
