The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is a great waterfront hotel. It literally juts up against the Monterey Bay and offers a "home away from home" feel. Another popular and well regarded water front lodging is the Spindrift Inn. The Spindrift is also a bit more affordable than the the Plaza Hotel & Spa.
