The city's specialty is called cabrito, or kid goat, and should definitely be ordered during your stay. Appropriately, El Rey del Cabrito is one of the best places around to order this famous dish.
Chock full of authentic cuisine, El Regio is also not to be missed. El Tio is a great place to eat and is heavy on the traditional cooking of the area. The terrace out back is a particularly romantic place to bring a special someone. For a traditional buffet that allows you to sample all the local dishes at once, check out Refugio, a favorite with the locals.
