Hello Roman:

You'll find very pleasant places while visiting Uruguay, and you may contact some qualified tourist guide to help you.
In winter season you can visit Montevideo's city center, and tour by squares like Plaza Independencia and Plaza Matriz (colonial-age city's square), Mercado del Puerto restaurants, as well as shopping malls like Punta Carretas Shopping and Montevideo Shopping. The rambla of Montevideo has spectacular views to the Rio de la Plata river, a coast tour that is 22 km long.
There''s also the Cerro de Montevideo fortress, Montevideo's higest point and milestone, and Carrasco neighbourhood.

You may also visit some beach resorts:
Colonia del Sacramento, Colonia (UNESCO's Humanity Cultural Heritage).
Punta del Este Maldonado.
Punta del Diablo and La Paloma, Rocha.

Please, send a list of likes and activities you and your wife prefer, and I will be very pleased to help you.

NOTE:
I'm not a tourist guide, nor a hotel or tour manager.
I'm just helping you with your question, and hoping you and your wife to have a nice journey visiting Uruguay.

Best regards from Montevideo.
