  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Located on Île-Sainte-Hélène, the Biosphere is hard to miss as it stands 200 feet high. Once covered in a transparent acrylic shell, the Biosphere burned in 1976, leaving only the steel latticework behind.

  • Description:

    • Designed by visionary architect Buckminster Fuller, the Biosphère quickly became the Symbol of Expo 67. Located at Parc Jean-Drapeau, the site is devoted to environmental action and education with activities and programs created by Environment Canada. As part of its 15 year anniversary, it has created two new permanent exhibits +1°C: What Difference Does It Make? and Finding Balance, as well as the temporary outdoor exhibition of giant photos Woodland Escapes. Kids will enjoy the interactive exhibitions and special events.
