  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Montreal's metro system is simple and efficient. Some of the stations can only be described as underground cathedrals. The earth displaced by the creation of the Yellow line which goes under the St-Lawrence river was used to create the man-made islands that housed Expo 67.

  • Description:

    • Montreal's Métro is clean, efficient, and, thanks to its rubber wheels, quiet. Four lines serve nearly every corner of the city, as well as a convenient stop on Île Ste-Hélène and one in Longueuil, on the South Shore. Platforms are labelled according to the final destination of the train.Weekly and 3-day tourist passes are available. Each station was designed by a different architect to reflect and enhance its particular neighbourhood.
