Steve Kirman opened his iconic store in 1965 on Rue St Antoine when he was only 19 years old. The iconic green doors have remained and the store has grown to take up an entire city block. His store has grown into a legend in Canada among musicians, professional and amateurs alike. There are now stores in Toronto and Ottawa. Steve's is famous for stocking everything needed to set up your band. Thousands of people, some famous, many not have come through the store looking for music, amplifiers or to "test drive" a guitar. You won't see any air guitar or posing from the staff though -- Steve's only hires genuine professionals for the store. Sadly, the original Steve passed away in March 2012.
