Some of the pleasures of visiting a place like the city of Montreal lie off the beaten track, so far off the track in fact that they are entirely outside of the city. Sugaring Off only happens for a period of about a month in the spring time, when the temperature still falls below freezing at night and climbs above zero during the day allowing the maple sap to flow. This traditional Eastern Canadian event is amazingly fun, either with friends or with your family. At some of the more traditional places they will take you out to the sugar shack where they make the maple syrup.Map:
