Lenkom Theatre

Lenkom Theatre - Moscow

  • Description:

    • Lenkom Theatre was founded in 1927 and was originally named the Theatre of Working Youth. In 1938 the theatre received the name Theatre of Lenin's Komsomol, a short version of which gives us the theatre's present name. Despite the elitist, orthodox implications of its name, Lenkom theatre gave birth to the first Russian rock-opera Yunona and Avos in 1973, after the arrival of new director Mark Zakharov. Today, the theatre still shows rock operas, and some of Russia's best actors play here, including Karachentsov, Iankovskii and Abdulov.
