Moscow Children's Theatre (Moskovskii Teatr Iunogo Zritelia)

Moscow Children's Theatre (Moskovskii Teatr Iunogo Zritelia) - Moscow

  • Description:

    • Moscow Children's Theatre was founded in 1918 and became one of the first theatres of the Soviet era. Its name proved to be somewhat limiting - being only for children's works, the theatre over time lost many a talented actor to other more 'mature' theatres. Everything changed in 1987, when a book by Bulgakov - Heart of a Dog - was adapted for the stage of the MTUZ (the Russian acronymic name). This play not only changed the theatre's direction, but also became its signature play. The theatre had triumphant foreign tours in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey, and other countries.
