Description:
- Since the end of the 14th century, Izmailovo has been the aristocratic family estate of the Izmailovs and later the Romanovs. Peter the Great stayed here during his youth and rumour has it that he learnt to sail on the lake near the estate. In 1980, the Izmailovo complex became a branch of the State Historical Museum. The Izmailovo Museum Complex includes the Bridge Tower, the God's Shelter for Military Men and the Cathedral of the Intercession. The museum collection consists of portraits, engravings, household items, military uniforms and weapons of the 14th-17th centuries.
