Musée de l'Automobiliste

Description:

  • This is one of the top attractions on the Riviera. Founded in 1984 by Adrien Maeght, it's a modern concrete-and-glass structure. It houses exhibitions and one of Europe's most magnificent collections of prestigious automobiles, which includes more than 100 vehicles dating from 1908 to the present. Within two steps of the sea, the museum explores the use of the automobile in both civil and military contexts. Individual cars are on display for historic, aesthetic, technical, or sentimental reasons. Children appreciate the antique toys and antique model cars collected over many generations, and any teenager who has seen pimpmobiles on TV will appreciate the cool quotient of such rare luxury rides as the 1925 Hispano-Suiza H6B and its even more opulent J12 counterpart from 1933.
