Our Lady of Salvation Church

Description:

  • Our Lady of Salvation Church, popularly known as the Portuguese Church, has been around since 1596 and is located at Dadar. Built by the Portuguese as "O Igreja da Nossa Senhora da Salvacao", the old structure was demolished and rebuit in the 1980s. It was later redesigned by the famous architect Charles Correa. The church has a unique design where the pillars that support the structure are not visible to the naked eye. This is indeed one of the few historic symbols in India.
