Franziskaner

Description:

  • Located directly opposite the Opera House and considered to be one of the best places for good Bavarian cuisine, Franziskaner offers culinary classics like home-made Leberkäse (meat loaf) and Weißwurst (veal sausage) as well as a selection of international dishes. The wooden decor has been somewhat badly 'Bavarianised' and the staff serve customers in a typically Germanic way which foreigners sometimes find a little gruff. All in all a pleasant pub with a good mix of locals and tourists. Tables are set up outside in the summer and hot food is available until 11:30p.
