Description:
This showcase restaurant in one of Munich's showcase hotels looks like a miniature pastel-colored palace. Its solemnly hushed room, off the bustling hotel lobby, is filled with blooming plants. Upscale food is served to a cosmopolitan crowd. Menu items are about as cultivated and esoteric as any in Munich. Examples include thin noodles with strips of quail and mushroom sauce, and a "land and sea" salad -- a bouquet of greens stuffed with gooseliver and fresh mushrooms. One of the most sought-after dishes is filet of Dover sole in lemon-butter sauce, served simply but flavorfully with fresh spinach and boiled potatoes. Desserts are appropriately lavish and imaginative. Ever had baked curd cheese ravioli with rhubarb and tonka bean ice cream?
