• Restaurant cafe am Marienplatz has the distinction of being where the only sausage originally from Munich was invented.  That sausage is called "Weisswurst," or white sausage, and can now be found in Bavarian restaurants all over the country.  It is a breakfast sausage, so come here for breakfast if you want to try the original Munich sausage where it was invented.
  
  However, if you come in the afternoon, this is a pleasant place to be as well.  Since it is located right on Marienplatz directly across from the glockenspiel, it has one of the best locations in town.
