Description:

From funerary art to actual mummies the Munich Egyptian museum will empress all but the jaded tourist who has already seen it all.  This state collection was founded by Duke Albrecht V back in teh 16th century and has been expanded many times since with the museum now taking up an entire wing of the royal palace, the Residenz.  The collection includ religious statues, jewellery, household items, sculptures, and more.

Guided tours are available in German, English, and French.

Take the U3 or U6 to Odeonsplatz, it is in the North wing of the Residenz.  Alternatively, it is a 10 minute walk North of Marienplatz.
