Description:
Set amid the densest concentration of hotels in "downtown" Myrtle Beach, this oceanfront, ocher-colored, 22-story tower opened in 2008 to fanfare that immediately positioned it amid the most upscale properties at the resort. Its design and decor manage to evoke Andalusian Spain, Morocco, and (on the inside) baroque Sicily all at the same time. Thanks to a position near the Convention Center, it caters to lots of corporations, many of them from the Carolinas, for their annual sales and incentive meetings. Local gossip identifies the carved doors leading between this hotel's lobby and the street as among the most ornate and expensive in town.
