  • This Hamlet just north of Myrtle Beach proper is a bit truer to the flavor of the town as it was before it became a tourist mecca. Centered on Mineola Ave as it makes a beeline for the waterfront, this little town consists of little more than a few streets and the waterfront along the eponymous inlet. This section of the city features a few nice restaurants and shops, and its cuisine is centered on its reputation as a hub of the crab harvesting season which takes place in late spring and for which the town hosts it world famous Blue Crab Festival each May.
