Getting There
The TGV (fast train) from Paris's Gare Montparnasse takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to get to Nantes and costs 55€ ($80). Beware of slower trains, which can take up to 5 1/2 hours. For information, call tel. 36-35 or 08-92-35-35-35. Nantes's Gare SNCF, 27 bd. de Stalingrad, is a 5-minute walk from the town center. If you're driving, take A11 for 385km (239 miles) west of Paris. The trip takes about 3 hours. Aéroport Nantes-Atlantique (tel. 02-40-84-80-00) is 12km (7 1/2 miles) southeast of town. Air France (tel. 02-51-25-02-78) offers daily flights from Paris. A shuttle bus between the airport and the Nantes train station takes 25 minutes and costs 6€ ($8.70). A taxi from the airport costs 25€ ($36) and takes about 15 minutes.
