- Nantucket celebrates the Christmas holiday for over a month with Nantucket Noel. The entire island participates with tree lightings, charity raffles, exhibitions, musical concerts and the famous Christmas Stroll held early December. Shopkeepers, particularly in Nantucket Town and on Main Street, decorate their stores quite festively. This popular event gives islanders and visitors a chance to gather, before Nantucket quiets for winter. Many of the events are free, but there are costs for some of the concerts and theater events.
