But would you believe that before the valley was blanketed with vines, there were also hops and breweries? The craft brewing tradition continues with brewpubs, local dive bars, and beer gardens lively with life music. Today, though, there are also cocktails - lots of cocktails. Some of the hottest cocktail lounges are in Napa proper, where a burgeoning gallery and business scene is livening things up. St. Helena, Yountville, Rutherfod, and Calistoga also have "scene" style bars, but the norm is a cozy fireside lounge where locals straight from the shops and cellars mingle with well-heeled visitors swapping stories and sharing local color.
