- No question but the majority of visitors to the Napa Valley are lured by the promise of tasting the region's world-famous wines. And to keep it exciting, there are always new wineries putting down roots, so to say. Which are the hot new wineries to check out? It changes year by year, vintage by vintage. But here's a hint: Get off the major highways. Many of the smaller boutique wineries are scattered around the valley's edges or tucked up into the surrounding hills. Other cool new things to do in Napa include visiting art galleries like Gordon Huebel's new Hay Barn, biking the scenic backroads, and doing the spa resort thing at one of the valley's hip new spa resorts.
