Top 10:

Historical Things to Do in Napa Valley

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • For most folks, the initial lure of a Napa Valley vacation is the chance to savor the region's world-famous wines. But that's just the initial hook; once here, you'll find yourself so enthralled with the picturesque countryside you won't be able to decide on the best way to enjoy it. Should you bike the region's quiet byways, tee off among the rolling green hills, or do the spa/pool thing at one of the many new relaxation-oriented resorts? Of course, with so many name-brand restaurants to choose from, you'll need to fit in plenty of leisurely lunches and dinners at hot-ticket spots like Solbar, Cantinetta Piero, Farmstead, and Thomas Keller's numerous Yountville offerings. And if you're adventure-oriented, you may want to check out the view of the valley from a hot air balloon or vintage biplane. Whether your trip is two days or seven, it won't seem long enough and you'll leave with a list of "must-dos" for your next visit.
