Mount Veeder
Rugged, extreme, distinct: the small appellation of Mount Veeder is one of Napa's most remote and unique. Less than a dozen wineries are tucked into these western Mayacamas Mountains slopes. Not only is the soil thin on this volcanic mountain, but some of the vineyards are being grown on slopes as steep as 30 degrees. The intense reds from Mount Veeder tend to be chewy, tannic and earthy, with a note of spiced berries, while whites are characteristically mineralistic. Mt.
