Description:
Only an hour north of San Francisco, but worlds away in terms of pace and style, Napa has become an increasingly popular destination for business travelers lured by the appeal of big city culture with the breathing space of country air. In recent years downtown Napa has ceased being so sleepy, and now offers several hip spots for out of town visitors to find someone to talk to. Try the Napa Valley Grille for a lively Friday or Saturday night scene, or the Boon Fly Cafe at the Carneros Inn if you want to meet some locals. Finding something to do is, of course, not a problem in Napa. After all, when all else fails, there are hundreds of tasting rooms all waiting to introduce you to the art of fine wine. To connect with coworkers or chat up the boss, head for Chardonnay Golf Club, a premiere 18-hole course. Or take in the perfect combination of nature and culture at the di Rosa Preserve, an elegant outdoor sculpture garden.Whether you're in town on solo business or attending a conference or retreat, you won't find your stay "all business" in the Napa Valley.

Our Local Expert Says:
Best place to see works by famous artists displayed in nature
Description:
Give yourself a couple of hours to immerse yourself in modern art, indoors and out, at the Di Rosa preserve. Created and curated by San Francisco art afficionados Rene and Veronica Di Rosa, the 217-acre preserve today showcases 2,200 works of art by more than 900 contemporary artists, most from northern Californi. Indoor galleries are well lit and organized, but the most fun is to be had wandering the trails through the meadows, where works of art pop out of you in surprising places. The art gallery and lawn area are available for rental for weddings and other special events.
