Description:
This is another of Naples's historical landmark restaurants. Its recent face-lift has not diminished its popularity with locals, nor changed its cuisine, which remains true to Neapolitan tradition. The chef prepares excellent renditions of local favorites, varying according to the season. Depending on the time of year, you'll probably find scialatielli ai frutti di mare (eggless homemade pasta with seafood), polipo alla Luciana (squid cooked in a pocket with tomato and herbs), in guazzetto (squid in a light tomato sauce), and sartù (rice with baby meatballs and cheese). Not surprisingly, the desserts are those of the Neapolitan tradition -- babà and pastiera.
