Description:
No, roosters aren't on the menu. The restaurant takes its unusual name from an old flatboatman's term for the top boatman. This big, barnlike eatery near the Opryland Hotel is well known around Nashville for having the best seafood in town. Like the catfish fillets and dill pickles on the menu, the shrimp and chicken are fried in peanut oil. Rounding out the hearty platters are sides such as beans and turnip greens brought to the table in big pots.

A novelty
