Description:
Prominently visible in the center of Cable Beach (its best asset) is this seven-story high-rise, connected by a shopping arcade to the Crystal Palace Casino. The nearby Wyndham is glitzier and has better facilities, but the Sheraton is still one of the best choices for families (many of its rooms contain two double beds, so can accommodate up to four). You'll think of Vegas when you see the rows of fountains in front, the acres of marble inside, and the hotel's propensity for hosting large wedding parties. The big, brassy building forms a horseshoe-shaped curve around a landscaped beachfront garden; its Aztec-inspired facade of sharp angles incorporates prominent balconies. Bedrooms are modern and comfortable, reflecting a lighthearted interpretation of Tommy Bahama style, replete with dark-wood furniture and understated tones completely devoid of the floral prints of yesteryear. Big windows open onto views of either the garden or the beach.
