Bahamas National Trust Park on Inagua

Description:

  • Encompassing nearly half of Inagua's area, this 287-square-mile park dominates the western portion of the island. Anyone with even the slightest interest in nature will appreciate the incredible landscapes and swarms of wildlife. The sanctuary's claim to fame is the inordinate number of flamingos that make their homes here. Bird-lovers flock to the park during the flamingo mating season, October through February, when the birds flock to Lake Rosa, the largest inland lake in the Bahamas. Contact the Bahamas National Trust (headquartered on East Settlers Way, Nassau, Bahamas) to reserve a camping site.
