Hi Myshell the Clifton heritage park is a great site to tour that shows so many distinct parts of bahamian history, such as where the slaves ships actually docked, the hollowed out passage way slaves carved out by hand and the steep steps they had to climb that signaled their impending lifelong life of being a slave or indentured laborer.
As for getting there. catching a local #10 is not an option. The clifton heritage is located at one of the most western most points of the island, and that public bus does not go that far.
The preferrred bus company that the park uses is called reliable transportation. They charge 4.00 per person to drop you to the site and $5 per person for a guided tour. Their numbers are 242-325-7433, or 242-326-1667. You can visit the site from 9-5 on weekdays only. Its closed on weekends and holidays.
If your looking for an extended day trip you can catch a taxi also, just be mindful in advance it is a long journey from all hotels. so it is advisable to get a taxi quote before just hopping into a taxi. Many taxis are independents so rates may fluctuate.
I hope you have an enjoyable trip, and if you have any more questions you can visit my website www.sandyslipper.com or drop me an email fabian@sandyslipper.com
