Description:

  • Located in the ancient city of Mehrauli is a beautiful Turkic remnant known as Balban's Tomb. This final resting ground of Turkish noble Ghiya ud din Balban is interesting as it formed using rumble masonry. The intricate structure saw the emergence Islamic architecture in India. Unlike the ones that followed, this tomb is lacking in grand ornamental detailing but was among the first dated to include an arch. Located close to the Mehrauli Archeological park, the tomb is a must see for architecture enthusiasts and offers spectacular views of the Qutub Minar.
