Description:

  • Still very much a secret in Delhi - a visit to this place entails walking by the lush greenery of the Delhi zoo, a lake, and a tiny hill. This museum displays rare items (considered to be the oldest finds in the area) found during the archaeological excavations at the site. There are pieces from the Painted Grey Ware pottery collection dating back to 1000 BC, and terracotta figures from the Maurya period (300 BC). And of course, there are coins and jewellery items belonging to the king Mohammad Bin Tuglaq, and 16th century porcelain from China. The collection is wonderful...it's pity that the place has not been maintained well.
