Kite Flying Festival

Description:

  • This festival is celebrated on the Makar Sankranti Day (January 14th) and is much awaited by children and kite enthusiasts. All over the city, people flash their colorful kites which come in all shapes and sizes. Terraces and open spaces are where kite lovers unite; people fly kites not just for pleasure but some also particpate in friendly kite fights in the air. Some places like Palika Bazaar also host international competitions.
